MY
TRAVEL EXPERIENCE |
August, unforgettable, dance, music, floating stage, children,
culture |
I
visited El Banco in mid-August to enjoy the National Cumbia Festival. I
danced by the river, tried the delicious bocachico fish, and watched amazing
performances on a floating stage. The parades went through the streets and
even included children who proudly keep the culture alive. It was an unforgettable
experience full of music, flavor, and tradition. |

WHERE
TO GO (Places
to visit) |
cathedral,
statues, Sacúdete Park, José Barros, Magdalena River, Hotel El Panorama |
You should check out the beautiful Cathedral, located right next to the Hotel El
Panorama on the riverfront. This area
offers a unique view where the church and the majestic river create the
perfect picture. The Hotel El Panorama is the best place to stay; it has spacious rooms with incredible river
views. You can also walk around
to see local statues and visit Sacúdete Park, where you will find a
monument to José Barros, the creator
of the festival. |
|
WHAT TO
DO (Activities) |
dance, eat, explore, shop,

During the Cumbia Festival you must join the colorful parades that fill the streets with music and dance. You can try out traditional dishes like bocachico, buy handmade crafts, and take photos of the beautiful costumes. If you visit in August, you will enjoy live music every night and celebrations that last until dawn |

TRAVEL
TIPS |
sunscreen, cash, camera, light clothes, stay hydrated,
motocarro, mototaxi |
You must
bring sunscreen and light clothes for the Caribbean heat. You should carry
cash to buy food and crafts. You don’t have to rent a car, because all places
are close to each other. To move around easily, you can take a motocarro or a
mototaxi, which are quick and affordable. |
